2023 marks the centennial of The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran – a collection of profound and enduring essays that explore the fundamental aspects of human existence. In this work, I confront ChatGPT’s lack of poetic and philosophical depth, challenging its claim as a modern prophecy. By applying The Prophet’s 26 philosophical ‘prompts’ to ChatGPT and juxtaposing their responses, I unveil the disparity between machine-generated insights and profound contemplation. Through an immersive street art style, I invite viewers to pause, redirecting their attention to the significance of the creative process and encourage reflection upon the ethical implications of relying on AI.
