My artistic career began in 1970 at the New England School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts. After studying at the universities of Albuquerque and Oregon, I moved to Canada and became a citizen. She received a diploma at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (1986), then earned a BA from Simon Fraser University in 1989.

Over the past 40 years, my work has been about exploring and expressing ideas in clay. Delight and whimsey are invitations into a serious conversation or can remain a simple story; both can exist at the same time, in the same piece. The idea is to Connect. The connections between the figures themselves and the viewer allows for the possibility of lighting up their own story and imagination.

I work in red, brown, black and white porcelain clays, black being the wildest and messiest. All my figures, gatherings, or solos connect to each other and to me before I set them to dry. My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1984.
