Masses of bleached white driftwood. Fir trees whispering against the starry night. Tall grasses rustling against a sunset background. On a faraway island of potters, painters and weavers I was nurtured to be creative. I have travelled from this world of Hornby Island… studying at The Banff Centre of the Arts for six weeks of painting—Summer 1978. Attended Emily Carr College for four years. Graduated with Diploma of Fine Arts 1983. Influential field trip to New York ten days 1981...seeing paint on canvas from the Impressionists to Picasso. Lived on the West Coast most of 1990’s painting. I have travelled and painted en plein air for forty years. I love painting with oils. Never find the alchemy of colour bores me.
