Eldest of three brought up on Hornby Island by two parents who wanted to put down roots and grow trees and children. Father was woodcarver and then for practical purposes a carpenter. Mother on board ship during World War Two travelling as a Wren Rating. Hornby, a world of people seeking 'the good life'. Went to the Banff School summer of 1978 on a tuition scholarship. Went to the Emily Carr College of Art 1979 to 1983 and graduated with a Diploma of Art in Painting. Saw real painting on canvas 1981 in New York so returned to paint plein air. Have painted wherever I have found myself. Lived off the very edge of the Pacific with back to the land on Ahous Bay and painted there with the landscape. Always showed on Hornby Island at the Community Hall. Various showings in past in Vancouver, Victoria, Skidegate and Salt Spring.
