The intent of the Salt Spring National Art Prize is to encourage artists whose practice demonstrates originality, quality, integrity, and creativity.

Four awards of $4,000, each selected by one of the jurors.
1st prize — $3,500 2nd prize — $2,500 3rd prize — $1,000 Youth vote — $1,000
Chosen by viewers online and in person.
The jury is made up of four eminent Canadian artists, curators, and collectors, operating independently from the SSNAP Society.
A new jury is selected for each SSNAP exhibition and the artists’ identities are anonymous to the jury during the finalist selection process. After finalists have been selected, jurors travel to Salt Spring Island to select the winners of the Salt Spring Prize and the Juror’s Choice Awards at an in-situ viewing of the exhibition.
SSNAP 2021/22 received 2,756 submissions from Canadian artists.
