The title of this painting is “La tête dans les nuages,” (“Head in the clouds”), which for me does not sound the same in English. I chose that title to underline both negative and positive visions of that subject. Negative because to continue to stick our heads in the sand over this issue is wrong, or even to think that we can go on much longer is puerile. Positive because, in an artistic eye, beauty can be found and revealed out of darkness.

Born in 1972 in Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk in Outaouais, where I settled. I explore both urban life and nature of my native region. I view, take it in, remember, imagine, remove elements, and keep the essential. I return to the impression felt; in short, paint the intention. Art is a haven that allows me to convey without confines both my unconditional amazement for nature and the atmospheres that molded me. My subjects are often my direct surroundings, their ambience from remembering is my language: I need to paint the effect that it has on me! I worship our planet by depicting essential states of mind that exist between us and our environment. Unconsciously, I try to preserve Mother Nature one painting at a time!
