Oil and cold wax on cradled wood panel

During radiation treatments for breast cancer, I decided to play around with collage to occupy my time away from home. Collage is not my strong suit, but I did come up with a geometric composition I thought I could use for a painting. Top of mind while working on “Precarious #2” (as with an earlier painting titled “Precarious”), were not only my feelings about living with cancer, but also my concerns about the pandemic and climate crisis. My hope is that my work will speak to both my personal circumstances and the larger issues confronting us all.
