My earliest connections with paintings have always been works that contain the figure and its context, and what is implied by this. I like works that grow and change with multiple viewings, their meaning fluid. Certain paintings of the past have this, and in the twentieth century, Dada and Surrealism enabled artists to make works with ambiguous content. I am interested in an obscured narrative of the absurd, irony, and displacement.
