Paper collage on canvas

My collages involve the collection, assembly and gluing of torn or cut paper and other recycled materials to recreate, for the most part, close and personal images of landscapes on canvas. Reusing old calendars, discarded magazines and books gives new vitality to re-purposed consumer goods.

After an intense and time-consuming career as a Certified Management Accountant, I retired with my husband and Siamese cat to our straw-bale home on a small acreage in the South Okanagan. I joined a local art group in 2015, discovered collage as my medium using paper and other recycled materials and completed my first collage that spring. My images combines big-picture perspective, a fascination with the variability of life and attention to detail that worked so well during my work life.
A rockhound since I was a girl on the north coast of Vancouver Island, I love to be on the land. My efforts to build on my canvas the towering basalt columns, rocky debris-strewn bluffs, rolling grasslands, alpine hillsides, snow-piled mountains, tide-churned beaches, sky-filled water reflections or wind- and -water tortured coastline of our unique countryside were each a challenge and a labour of love.
