This painting is from a series that explores our relationship to the land with nostalgia and remorse. I use imagery that reflects the ironic nature of progress, as defined by us, in a world where all things perish. I am interested in what it means to be good stewards, while honouring the natural cycles of life, death and rebirth.

Megan completed her BA in International Development Studies at Canadian Mennonite University and more recently her BFA Honours in Painting at the University of Manitoba. In September 2012 she participated in the year-long Foundation Mentorship Program offered by MAWA in Winnipeg. Megan was a recent recipient of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers Emerging Artist Award as well as the Nellie McClung Arts Legacy Award. Megan teaches at the Community School of Music and the Arts and at the Winnipeg Art Gallery Studio. She is represented by Gurevich Fine Art in Winnipeg.
