“All of These Things” addresses my interest in our stories being the sum of our layers; which can be viewed from several points: the compound eye of the fly on the floor observes from the ground up, the chair as a perch, the eyeball-like belt buckle, and the gaze of the figure together create the narrative.

Beverly is a self-taught multimedia artist. Primarily a painter of bold visceral images, she also creates sculpture, textile, installation and performance works. For the past twenty years, Beverley has been exhibiting in solo and group shows. Knowing the value of “making,” and how creative process contributes to every aspect of human health, Beverley facilitates art sessions with children and adults. My work considers our most basic, wild selves, the forces that shape us and the ongoing tension between what we know in our cells and what we wear on our skin. In nature there is a nudge toward some longing for an honesty we can’t name. The narrative in my work intends to deal with those longings. Not about how nature influences us, but rather, why it is that we humans feel separate from it?
