SSNAP Society appreciates all our dedicated volunteers – more than 100! Our nationally recognized exhibitions and events on beautiful Salt Spring Island are presented with the help of many generous individuals. We are committed to making the volunteer experience fulfilling and enjoyable. For more information on volunteering, please get in touch.
Our volunteers are a committed group and many return year on year. Give it a go and discover why! Volunteers take on as much or as little as they wish, and there’s something to suit every interest.
Volunteer Opportunities will be posted soon for SSNAP and PAS and the upcoming 2025 Exhibitions– on Salt Spring Island September 27 – October 19.
If you’re interested in volunteering as an exhibition show sitter, please check back soon—our show sitters sign-up calendar will be updated shortly with available dates and times.
Show sitting involves greeting guests, chatting about art and assisting show managers with other casual tasks at our exhibition locations– Mahon Hall and ArtSpring. Training is provided and a supervisor is always with you.
If you’re interested in volunteering your support to the exhibitions with the hanging crew, receiving and shipping crew etc, please contact us.
If you’re interested in volunteering during special events such as opening nights, artists talks and Gala Awards, please check back soon – the sign-up calendar will be updated shortly with available dates and time. Example of tasks available will be door greeters, bartenders and event helpers.
We look forward to welcoming back many of our past volunteers and to meeting new friends offering to join us this year.
Our volunteer coordinator will listen carefully to ensure that you are matched with tasks that fit your available time, skill set, and interests and will confirm whether you prefer to be part of a team or volunteer alone.
If volunteering for SSNAP sounds like fun (and it is!) we’d love to hear from you.
We require all volunteers to read and abide by the SSNAP Volunteer Code of Conduct.
