Cotton warp and weft
Warp Drawing: Map invites you, the viewer, to set out on a journey, plotting a route through a maze of small symbols drawn by the tapestry’s warp and weft. Along the way, you may confront fantastical beasts, cross bridges, join a chorus line, martians…where did they come from? These drawings were created spontaneously at the loom with no pre-planning. They appear much in the same manner as a collection of doodles shows up on your notepad during a long, boring meeting. Your blank page (or my tapestry) becomes a map of images to wander through in a daydream.
