Sally Born is a Canadian artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, and mixed media. With a B.A. in Art Education and a B.A. in Sculpture and Metalsmithing from Western Washington University, she has painted for over 40 years. Working with varied materials—from acrylic and oil paints to metal, glass and foils—she draws inspiration from everyday objects and the rituals of her creative life. Contemporary graphic shapes contrasting with organic forms embodies a shift in focus. In Fractured Faultlines, Born combines textured surfaces, metal accents and rich colour layers to explore the patterns and forces of the natural world.
