We thank the Southern Gulf Islands artists who submitted their works, demonstrating the talent and vibrancy of the local arts community. The PAS finalists’ works will be exhibited on Salt Spring Island September 23 to October 22. Prizes will be awarded at the PAS Closing Gala and Awards on October 21. Learn more about this year’s PAS awards. “Many of the Southern Gulf Islands artists chosen for the Parallel Art Show by our three jurors – Sophia Burke, Helen Mears, and Richard Steel – reflect the beauty and the concern for the landscape characteristic of the West Coast. But this group of individual Canadian artists also have a strong diversity of vision, range of materials, and quality of technique. I am excited to see the work chosen this coming September.” – Ronald T.
