In 1988, I left the academic art world to experience the rich underground art scene in Montreal away from the country life I grew up in. Dance became a companion to painting and has claimed an equal part of my life. After such a cultural feast, a pull “back to the earth” took me on an unforeseen journey to the west coast of Vancouver Island where I consecrated my soul to the Church of Plein Air. Simultaneously, my inner landscape began to unfold. In 2020 I settled on Salt Spring Island after many travels. My abstract takes me on a venture where the landscapes coalesce with the dance of my psyche. Reality, in its full expression includes the vulnerable visceral and emotional experience.
