As I age, I have become fascinated by my fading memories. What was real? What’s imagined? Years ago, I visited the Similkameen Valley, but the details of what it looked like are vague. Like a dream that is crystal clear when you wake, then fades as you struggle to remember it, I want to capture the angst of trying to remember something from long ago. I paint without reference, creating forms devoid of colour, scratched into acrylic, shifting in and out of focus to create a scene that never feels fully realized.
