“My photography started in a UBC dark room in 1964 and has continued to be my passion during my music career. Encouragement from respected artists and friends prompted me to enter the SSNAP competition which has resulted in my first public exhibition.

Painting has been the strongest influence in my photos, as has my life-long association with music and dance. These disciplines have formed my aesthetic sense—my palette, my harmony and dissonance, my silent sounds, my inertia and my movement. My work, hopefully, provokes a feeling or a memory, and if it does that the viewer and I have successfully connected, which is why I do photography.”
