Flow state is a meditation on the environment in a time of crisis. Water, essential to life: its beauty and its power to destroy. This piece is an elaborate frame made of upcycled materials including the rubble of a fire. Within is a tribute to Jozo Weider’s Blue Mountain Pottery. Established in Ontario in 1953 this no longer produced flow glaze pottery was an identifiably Canadian export. The design and structure of this fountain evolved around the question of sustainability. I am inspired by Nancy Holt and Louise Nevelson to use found objects and let materials dictate their own limits.
