When I painted “Draping Cloth. Jutting Jags” I was interested in investigating how this screenbased language can inhabit both the exterior spaces, and the internal. How it manifests within culture as object, within a monitor as concept, or even internalized and emotive.

“As an artist, as a painter, as a member of the online culture, I have become obsessed with investigating this new culture. The online experience has manifested in many ways. It has given us new platforms from which to communicate and engage. Screen-based activity, a faceless and pliable culture, has spawned a language specific to its users, though seldom is it spoken out of context. In my painting practice I’m interested in how this language can manifest in physical visual forms.”
