“I am in my fourth year of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. I grew up in a small city fifteen minutes from Alberta’s capital, and this is where I discovered my love for art. I plan to finish my fine arts degree, get a further degree in education, and become a high school art teacher. My dream is to show others what they are capable of, as my art teacher showed me. My medium choices are painting, printmaking and drawing.

Dumpsters are literally boxes into which we throw garbage and other objects deemed to be too ugly or forbidden to keep in the home. I wanted to demonstrate how objects as mundane as a dumpster can be seen in a better light through the image I have chosen. Now the object appears to have a story.”
