Vivian Lindoe captures more than a likeness—it embodies the fierce spirit of a woman artist who claimed her artistic space in the mid-20th-century male-dominated art world. Draped in battle garb made from images of her own screen prints, her attire is both armor and emblem, symbolizing the strength required to break barriers. The work reflects how all artists carry their labor, struggles, and triumphs as integral parts of their identity. Vivian Lindoe honors her legacy as a fierce woman artist while paying tribute to the broader journey of all artists who persist, resist, and create.
