Lifesavers David BrandyToronto, ON Dimension 20" x 24" Médium Digital Photography “Lifesavers” is one of the images from my series of photographs entitled, “Empty Seats”. The series depicts the enigma of everyday seating specifically created by and for human beings, yet these objects are filled with emptiness, loneliness and longing for a human presence. Lifesavers David BrandyToronto, ON À propos de l'artiste À propos de l'artiste David BrandyToronto, ON David Brandy is a fine art photographer, born in 1957 in Leamington Ontario. Be they photos of everyday objects or places, David Brandy captures transient moments that evoke a feeling of disquieting strangeness. Imagine an instance where something can be seen as both beautiful yet alien at the same time. That's the end result he strives for – the opposite of what is familiar. Brandy's photographs are aligned with his mantra, "beauty can be strange and the strange can be beautiful." His work is held in private collections and is shown in gallery exhibitions, corporate installations and art shows across Canada. Brandy is a graduate of Ryerson University and is a member of Gallery 44 Centre For Contemporary Photography, Artists' Network Toronto and Scarborough Arts. He works and lives in Toronto, Canada.
