Inspired by traditional botanical drawings and the Pacific Coast ecosystem, “Field Work” is a work in progress that endeavours to collect and document through mono-printing, drawing, painting, and storytelling, intimate experiences observed while hiking. Cartography will also be considered, including citing latitude, longitude, and ring counting to determine the age of felled trees in specific areas. Found pattern, form, and colour in combination with representational imagery will result in a large-scale book of artworks to be displayed either as individual pieces or bound together.
