Bound Jessica Sallay-CarringtonMontreal, QC About the artist About the artist Jessica Sallay-CarringtonMontreal, QC Originally from Vancouver BC, Jessica moved to Montreal QC where she received her BFA in ceramics in 2014 from Concordia University. Still residing in Montreal, Jessica has been actively pursuing artist residencies and other artistic experiences around the world. Jessica’s work focuses on the intersectionality of animals and society, using sculpture as a lens to explore the many complicated aspects of our relationship to these non-human peoples and to ourselves. By unpacking various cultural constructs and placing them in a differently observable space, Jessica tries to trigger an experience that helps us to think about these complex problems in new and interesting ways. Using the animal form allows us to confront certain aspects of human society that she finds problematic including the subjects of sexuality, gender and personal identity. Follow on social
