Body Rock Meghan PriceToronto, ON Size 96" x 54" x 15" Medium Graphite on stitched paper, dowels Body Rock” is a series of paper forms made through pattern drafting and stitching. Geological textures are recorded on the paper with graphite rubbings. These floating “boulders” sway in response to movement, marking the time of our bodies. They also point to the much greater geologic timescale where stone is lively. Recent exhibition sites include The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (Asheville), the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Brandon), Katzman Contemporary (Toronto), Idea Exchange (Cambridge) and Blackwood Gallery (Toronto). Price has held residencies at Artspace (Sydney), The Scottish Sculpture Workshop (Lumsden) and The Banff Centre. She holds a degree in Textile Construction from The Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles (2003) and an MFA from Concordia University (2009).
