Though I never shopped there, I found myself surprisingly saddened by the closure of this iconic establishment. I spontaneously took photos of the gutted interior through the side windows and subsequently painted the image over several months. Applying layers of acrylics carefully was my tribute to hundreds of souls who once frequented the space. Hopefully my viewers experience their own memories and imaginations awaken. The lonesome dragon mural left behind, then, may become not a past relic in ruins but symbolic of a new beginning.
