By hand embroidering stories of mothers and daughters on this specific textile, the work imagines worlds where voices of Indian women never existed. It celebrates the labour of women in their homes and the significance of these deeply personal spaces that have historically been underappreciated. Embroidering by hand becomes a gesture of care, an act of continuity, and a way of collaborating with my ancestors to heal from colonial wounds and together, dream up futures that we never inherited.
