This piece is part of my ongoing artistic practice where I depict wildflowers and medicines using porcupinequills and birch bark. I use traditional techniques for harvesting quills and bark, as well as working with themin my art. My inspiration comes from the forests around my home and the plants, flowers, and medicinesheld within. My artwork exemplifies the interconnectedness of my Indigenous identity, artistic practice,connection to nature and sense of self. Porcupine quillwork gives me the creative outlet to depict the worldaround me as I see it… from the forest floor.
