Moon Woman (from the Voyageur/Almanac series) Anna Binta DialloWinnipeg, MB Size 72" x 44" Medium Collage printed on hemp In Voyageur/Almanac, I explore the ways in which humans have sought to understand and control our natural environments. Through visual storytelling, this large-scale immersive installation is fuelled by a deep interest in the construction of folklore and its impact on the way we experience the world. The project draws from diverse fields, including geography, earth sciences, landscape, and weather patterns to create a reflective space for reimagining humanity’s relationship to nature that is both futuristic and historical. Through hybrid figures that transcend time and space, viewers are invited to consider new possibilities for achieving symbiosis with the natural world.
