Kerry Zentner is the son of a poet and a doll maker. Growing up homeschooled, Kerry spent his time drawing comics about anthropomorphic teeth and staring at the paintings of Yves Tanguy and Max Ernst. Now a graduate of OCAD University's illustration program, his complexly layered watercolour paintings reference art history, world mythology, and naturalist imagery to create surrealistic tableaus rife with subconscious symbolism. These references seek to draw out contrasts and commonalities between classical and contemporary modes of thought. Kerry loves the sacred aura created by an original work of art and seeks to create unique and irreproducible viewing experiences by weaving together pearlescent and UV-reactive pigments in his unique landscapes.
