Oil paints on linen

The artist’s practice focuses on oil paintings that explore the concept of perception. She is interested in how, through the manipulation of geometrical grid patterns, surface, color, and light, a picture can perform a ‘mapping’ of reality. The illusions of space draw parallels with the subjectivity of one’s own perception. The artist interprets perception as a reality that is partly veiled, and one in which facts are filtered and distorted. To her, each individual has his or her own grid pattern in which thoughts, manners, and expectations are compartmentalize as a way to cope with their personal reality.
