Patrick Treacy was born in Hornepayne, Ontario and has lived and worked in Winnipeg for over forty years. In the 1970’s, he studied art at the University of Manitoba and received a BFA Honours degree. His most recent solo exhibitions are the Actaeon Project at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (Winnipeg, 2017), the Wasagaming Art Center (Manitoba, 2016) and the Gas Station Arts Centre (Winnipeg, 2015). His current studio preoccupations revolve around how artists' lives influence their creative processes and how they find ways to question the tenacious western cultural obsession with an isolated interior life. He is interested in producing work that references history, emphasizes interconnectedness and expresses the multitudinous nature of being in this world. He has received grants from The Winnipeg Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council and the Canada Council. His work is in numerous private and public collections.
