I have been working as an artist since 1994 when I graduated from the Textile Arts program at Capilano College. My ideas are influenced by my studies of both Anthropology and Textile History. By combining traditional surface design techniques with non-traditional materials, I create pieces that are both physically and metaphorically rich. Many of the materials I use have been discarded either as waste or as surplus to need. Experimentation is a key element in all my work. I love the thrill of working with and exploring the unknown. I enjoy the process of gaining familiarity with that which was previously unmapped, whether it is a new material, technique, or idea.
I have shown my work in both public and artist-run galleries across Canada and in the United States. Images of my pieces have appeared in Fiberarts and Surface.
