Her practice merges art and anthropology in whichshe holds degrees from the University of Washington. A contributor toCanadian Art, C, and Fuse magazines, Alex has received numerousawards including Canada Council and BC Arts Council grants. Her in-terests include the role of comedy and the carnivalesque in social re-generation, and she counts among her mentors the 19th centurysatirist Honoré Daumier.
