The Push exhibition invited artists to strive for new directions in functional art and fine craft. This call led me to boxes, a challenging format in kilnformed glass. The raised pattern of white lattice (tafoni) and discs (concretions) mimic naturally occurring rock features and continue my ongoing exploration of natural textures. For local residents, examples of tafoni can be seen at Southey Point.
